Unscroll (the "App") never sends your data anywhere except your own device and your own iCloud backup. There is no developer server, and no account to sign up for. We, the developer, cannot see how you use the App or the photos you keep in it.

1. We read only the length of time

Through Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls / DeviceActivity), the App reads only how long you use the social media apps you selected. It never accesses what you post, what you browse, your messages, your passwords, or anything else inside those apps.

2. There is no developer server

Measuring your usage, recording your own time, and saving your photos all happen on this device. The App does not transmit your data to any server operated by the developer, and we cannot access that data. The only things that leave your device are: the backup to your own iCloud (section 4), the photos you show to people you invited yourself (section 5), and an anonymous record of how the app is used (section 6).

3. Your photos are yours alone

Photos you take or save in the App are stored only on your device (in the App's local storage) and in your own iCloud as a backup. Whether to share a photo with anyone is always your choice, made one photo at a time. Unless you choose to share it, no one else can see it.

4. Backups go to your own iCloud

So that your photos survive a new phone or a reinstall, they are backed up automatically to your own iCloud when saved (Apple's CloudKit — the private area tied to your Apple ID). Records, achievements, and settings are backed up only when you tap "Save to iCloud" in Settings yourself. Restoring likewise happens only when you choose to.

Because that storage is private to you, we as the developer cannot see its contents. Data held in iCloud is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Where iCloud is unavailable, your data is stored on your device only.

5. When you share photos with "Keep this day together"

The app lets you invite people to a single day in your journal so that each of you can bring your own photos to it ("Keep this day together"). Only when you start this yourself do the photos you kept on that day, the note you added to each of them, and the display name you chose become visible — through Apple's iCloud sharing (CloudKit) — to the people you invited.

6. How the app is used (anonymous usage)

We receive only how the app was used, in a form that is not tied to you.

Why: to see where people stop during first-time setup, and whether someone finishes without ever starting a record — used solely to rebuild those screens. It is never used for advertising, never to send you notifications or offers, and never sold or given to third parties.

7. If you stop, your memories stay

Canceling your subscription does not delete any of your past records or photos. You can still look back on them at any time, and you can still export them.

8. You can delete anything, anytime

You can delete any record or photo yourself at any time. Deleting a photo in the App also deletes its iCloud backup. Uninstalling the App removes the App's data stored on your device along with it.

9. Collection and third parties

10. Purchases

Buying, renewing, canceling, and refunding a subscription all happen through the App Store (Apple). Apple handles payment information; the App never receives your credit card details or similar data. For how Apple handles this, please see Apple's Privacy Policy.

11. Children's privacy

Because the App collects no personal information and the developer holds none of your data, it can be used safely at any age. If a child uses the App, please do so under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as features are added or as laws change. If a significant change is made, we will update the date on this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
